Profile

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for research in forest entomology
  • Perform flight mill experiments, specifically looking at flight behaviour of the Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle, Tetropium fuscum
  • Perform various tasks in the field which include trapping, collecting and identifying the Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle along with other types of Wood boring Insects
  • Maintain a working inventory of all field and lab materials
  • Reassess field plots and determine the annual impact of the Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle

  • Preparation of insect specimens for research collection purposes
  • Forest insects of quarantine significance
  • Standard methods to establish experimental plots in forests for entomology research
