Patricia Baines is a forest pathology technician with the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre. She provides support to research on root and stem pathogens and their impacts on tree growth and wood quality. Her current activities focus on wood decay in boreal ecosystems and involve the collection, isolation, and culturing of root and stem decay fungi and studies to determine how root and butt rots affect growth and yield in silviculturally treated second-growth stands.
