Profile

As part of the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre (CWFC) Ross Koppenaal currently is co-lead for a research project on non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of wood fiber attributes in standing trees. For this project he is responsible for research and application of acoustic velocity technology for evaluating fiber quality in standing and harvested trees in relation to silvicultural and ecological influences and species differences. He has also done extensive research on regeneration growth problems on coastal montane sites in relation to nutrient dynamics, competing vegetation and silvicultural practices.
