  • Investigating the potential of using willows  and other woody plant species for reclamation and phytoremediation of forest landscapes disturbed by industrial activity (i.e. oilsands extraction)
  • Development and application of silviculture tools for reclamation of sites disturbed by industrial activity like oil sands and conventional oil extraction
  • Conducting research into the production of biomass from short rotation woody crops like willows and poplars
  • Incorporating municipal wastewater and biosolids treatment into short rotation crop production
  • Also interested in plantation establishment and intensive stand management.
