Forest Research
Forest and Landscape Management
Research in this area focuses on:
- studying harvesting options and ecosystem functioning in the context of sustainable forest management;
- using remote-sensing technology and satellite imagery and developing expert systems;
- characterizing and modeling the biophysical environment, such as climate and topography, and their relationships to the distribution of wildlife; and
- developing modeling tools to assess the impact of natural and human disturbances and to assist with planning management regimes.
