Remarks: UVic Ring Rd. (E side). Specimens are older galls that are likely several years old. Eriophyoid mites were collected from the more succulent, slightly redder areas of gall tissue.

Remarks: Skimikin hybrid poplar plantation. Hybrid clone #189-437. First record of bud galls caused by this mite on a T X D. Specimens were found in association with 'bud galls' on the leaves.

Remarks: Skimikin hybrid poplar plantation. 'Bud galls' on leaves. Clone #189-437. The galls look like & were associated with 'bud galls' on the branches of same tree. No eriophyoids were collected from these specimens.

Remarks: Kalamalka Forest Service Stn. Clone #20-74. Very distinct 'leaf-bronzing' caused by this mite & appears as compartmentalized brown areas on the undersurface of leaves.

Remarks: Kalamalka Forest Service Res. Stn. Clone DTAC 8. The undersides of the leaves have orangy, scaly, 'leaf-bronzing' disease symptoms. This mite was identified in and on the bronzed areas.

Remarks: Kalamalka Research Station. Clone #22-87. This mite caused very distinct, orangy, small bronzed compartments on the undersurface of the leaves. The leaves are moderately to heavily bronzed.

Remarks: MacBlo hybrid poplar plantation. T X M hybrid, clone #268-55. First record of 'leaf-bronzing' on a T X M hybrid caused by this mite. Bronzing is not as distinctly compartmentalized as in T X D hybrids or P. trichocarpa.

Remarks: Scott Paper Plantation. The symptoms caused by this mite occur only on the underside of the leaf as bronzed areas. Marssonina sp. appears on both sides of the leaf as darker brown spots with fine grey centres.

Remarks: PFC. The undersurface, near the basal part, of the leaves have a brown discoloration associated with feeding and reproduction of this eriophyoid mite.

Remarks: Gordon Head Rd. opposite Midgard (UVic). This bud gall has leaf tissue present as some shoots try to elongate and form leaves. The succulent bud tissue is red & cauliflower-like. An area of dead/hardened tissue is mite-free.
