Description
Tetropium fuscum is an exotic cerambycid beetle native to Eastern Europe that is recently established in Nova Scotia. Unlike other invasive species such as the emerald ash borer, T. fuscum is not known to have spread further than about 100 km beyond the epicentre of its initial introduction. We are examining the interactions of T. fuscum with its new community to determine whether natural enemies and congeners native to North America are keeping its populations from reaching outbreak levels.
