Coastal forest chronosequences project


Data sets

From this page raw and processed data files from various component studies of the Coastal Forest Chronsequence project are made available. Data files are provided in CSV format along with an accompanying TXT metadata file describing how data was gathered, processed, variable names and definitions, and references to project publications first using the data. Most CFC project publications are available for downloading via links on the Publications page.

Data file names follow the naming convention Project Datatype Measurementperiod Version concatenated into a single file name. Eg. CFCMetDaily1993-2003v2007-03.csv = CFC (Coastal Forest Chronsequences project) MetDaily (Daily Micrometerology) 1993-2003 (data for the period 1993-2000 v2007-03 (version refers to the year and month the data file was last prepared and posted). Metadata files can describe more than one data file and follow the naming convention Project Datatype _metadata Version concatenated into a single file name. Eg. CFCMet_metatdatav4 = CFC (Coastal Forest Chronsequences project) Met(Micrometerology) _metadata (denotes this is a metadata file) v4 (version of the metadata file).

When using data provided from this web site please include citation to relevant references provided in the accompanying metadata file as well as to the URL, filename, version, and access date. The technical data files and accompanying metadata files are provided "as is" in the language, English, they were originally prepared for and used by project Participants.
