Abstract

Insects annually deplete one third of Canada's annual wood harvest. Forest specialists must apply new technologies, such as nonchemical pest control and biotechnology, to limit the devastation caused by insect pests. Within a context of sustainable forest management, this book reviews new developments in forest insect pest management, focusing on methods that are environmentally friendly and socially acceptable.
