Abstract

Frequency and loading of fuel components calculated from photogrammetric and ground measurements were compared to assess the reliability of low-level 70-mm photography for slash fuel inventory. Although estimates of total fuel loading and number of components were less from photogrammetric data than from ground measurements, they were more consistent. The technique offers further advantages in speed and opportunity for re-inventory but is limited to fresh, unilayered fuel complexes.
