Description:
- 20 - 30 cm
- brown, gray or black with a bright red-orange belly
- three light spots on the nape of the neck
Habitat:
- woodlands, sometimes inhabiting urban areas
- hides under logs and rocks and in woodpiles during the day
Conservation concerns, distribution and status:
- generally common in southern and central Ontario, though absent from
some areas
