Checklist of the macromoths of Fundy National Park

This check list gives the scientific names of the 626 species of macromoths, in our targeted 14 families (38 subfamilies), identified from Fundy National Park and the adjacent forests that form part of the Greater Fundy Ecosystem. The species are listed in the order they occur in the current North American Check List (1983) and use the same check list numbers. The local flight period for each species is included.

Since 1983 there have some changes in the names and relationships of species. The most recent names and relationships are included in this check list. In cases where the relationships have changed and the species has been assigned a different number from that in the 1983 check list, the 'old' 1983 check list number is included in parentheses before the current check list number.

Coloured images of moths are included for some species; these will be added to these web pages on a regular basis. Brief information on the biology of most of these species can be found in the Peterson Field Guide to the Moths of Eastern North America.
