Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or coordinate the development of geo-spatial databases in support of the Integrated Risk Analysis project for various component studies
- Conduct data analyses in support of risk analysis including statistical analyses, use statistical software, adapt remote sensing and Geographic Information System software programs to facilitate data analyses, and analyze and interpret spatial data
- Provide scientific support, advice, and education to colleagues and clients on matters relating to geospatial data and analyses
- Produce analogue maps and charts for presentation with the aid of computer programs using a range of Geographic Information System analytical methods, processes and techniques
- Assist in the ongoing development and application of the Marten Habitat Management Plan for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Assist in the development, field research, and data management of new marten research initiatives
- Identify, quantify, and monitor various indicators of forest ecosystem sustainability using Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing data
