Remarks: In needle layer under Picea sitchensis. Stipe wine red, except yellow on upper 1 cm, 7 x 1.1 cm cyl, with pale yellow matted cottony mycelium over basal 2 cm. Pores olive-yellow, 1.2 cm deep, bruising weak blue. Flesh white or pale yellow near margin. Cap 7 cm diam., plane dark brown, numerous fissures, pink between islands of brown. Margin red. Stipe and flesh with numerous maggots whose tunnels are dark pink-red.
