Remarks: In pure pine stand on surface of soil among needles. Single or clustered, largest 2 cm diam., exterior glabrous, pale yellow brown with distinct mottling of nose. Firm when collected, becoming more flexible/leathery on drying. In sect. rind <0.1 mm thick, core pale olive, multichambered, ea. pit ca 0.5 mm diam. Odor nil. Field collection no. 10446
