Dialing down the risks to woodland caribou

This project leverages CFS’ SpaDES integrated software platform to build an adaptable decision support system for managing risks to woodland caribou under the cumulative effects of resource development. (SpaDES is a generic simulation platform that can be used to create new model components quickly). The tool will allow for continual access to the best available data and models, while also providing flexibility in which ones to use for evaluating national-scale caribou habitat projections. The end product will be an interactive interface that will allow users to evaluate trade-offs among different risk management strategies for woodland caribou.
