Post-disturbance forest dynamics on the North Shore of Quebec

Description

  1. Characterize the canopy gap regime in the eastern boreal forest and determine the proportion of the territory that is subjected to these dynamics.
  2. Describe the natural spatial patterns caused by secondary disturbances at different scales.
  3. Develop a typology for forest structure based on natural spatial patterns at various scales that can be readily applied in preparing forest management strategies.
  4. Develop a forest management model adapted to regions with a low fire recurrence.
