Abstract
The initiative described in this report was undertaken to fulfil one of the objectives in the CFS 1990 Strategic Plan, namely to review and analyze the roles, responsibilites and interrelationships of Canada's forestry research and development (R&D) agencies, and from that to develop a "National Forestry Science and Technology Agenda for Canada". The report that follows describes the work carried out between 1991 and 1993, and the conclusions reached, with that objective in mind. It is important to note, however, that because of the sector-wide focus of the study, the "agenda" that has been developed is broadly-based and generic in nature, and might be more accurately characterized as a basis or framework for a subsequent more action-oriented type of agenda, or series of such agendas.
