Abstract
This publication is the result of collaboration between the Canadian Forest Service, Laurentian Forestry Centre and other agencies.
Many of the more frequently encountered tree diseases can be recognized readily through the 96 descriptions and 276 color photographs presented in this field guide. Topics in each description include host, distribution, effects on the hosts, identifying features, life history, control, and a selected bibliography. Hosts and distribution of causal agents pertain to eastern Canada, although many of them are also found in western Canada and the United States. Guidelines for selection and handling of samples to send to experts and suggestions on how to prevent, manage, and control the disease are also provided.
