Abstract

This report presents a single national system of equations for estimating the aboveground ovendry mass of single trees and of their individual components for trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx.). This system is based on data from six geographic regions across Canada. When applied to the sample data from individual geographic regions, estimates of aggregate ovendry mass of all sample trees in any of the six regions differed from observed values by not more than 6% with approximately half the estimates being within 2% observed values.
