Lophophacidium hyperboreum, the causal fungus of snow-blight of eastern white pine and several species of spruce, can be controlled on spruce with Benlate and Daconil 2787 Wettable Powder. A single application of water suspension of 0,5% Benlate or 2,7% of Daconil 2787 Wettable Powder at the rate of 100 mL/m2 at the end of September will protect nursery-size stock or young, natural regeneration of black, Norway, red and white spruce. Several other fungicides will reduce significantly the infection rates. Additional tests are required to complète evaluation of their performances.
