Abstract
Bell is the only author to have mentioned the presence of red oak in the lake Saint-Jean region. His observation was based on the presence in 1867 of acorns of this species on the lake shore. The present article describes the location where a few red oak trees were found a few miles south of Saint-Jérôme de Metabetchouan near lake Saint-Jean.
