Abstract

Key elements contributing to operational fertilization efficiency are described. Fertilizer cost is shown as the major cost factor. The need for research to measure and determine treatment response is indicated. Prediction of stand dynamics and the use of low-elevation photogrammetric technology are advocated to link research with forest management.
