Abstract
Armillaria root rot is a disease of the roots of plants and is caused by a fungus belonging to the genus "Armillaria" spp. Most tree species in both the temperate and tropical zones can be affected by this disease; however, the damage is most notable and probably greatest in plantations. Armillaria root rot can be controlled, albeit with difficulty.
