Abstract
Forest management is evolving faster than ever before. Informed environmentalists are now forest managers who constantly change the face of forest management as new science and techniques emerge. Forest Ecosystem Design is one of those techniques that has provided managers with a practical way to include aesthetics, ecology, and input from all forest users into a landscape-level forest management plan. This report reviews the progress of four landscape planning projects in teh Maritime provinces. It describes the process, the locations, and the reaction of the collaborators to this all-encompassing, landscape-level approach, as well as recommendations for future work.
