Abstract
The Forests of Canada describes the extent, composition, and management of Canada's forests, with chapters devoted to each of the eight general forest types and an additional chapter on urban forests. The outstanding color photography commissioned for the publication creates a pictorial narrative paralleling the text. The concise forest science information and exceptional color photography combine to present a contemporary picture of Canada's diverse forests.
This publication was written by Ken Farr, a dendrologist with the Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada, Ottawa, Ontario. The principal photographer is J. David Andrews, a well-known landscape and natural history photographer.
More than 150 high-quality color photographs depicting Canada's forests. Color satellite maps showing the location of forest types across Canada. Information and statistics describing forest composition, forest ecology, characteristic wildlife species, and Canadian forest management practices.
