Abstract
The central theme of the 2003-04 edition of the SOF is forest fires. Some of the issues explored in this year’s report include: the conditions and trends that lead to fires; the relationship between human activities and forest fire; the ecological and socio-economic effects of forest fires; and, what is being done by the federal, provincial, and territorial governments and others to address the devastating effects of forest fires.
