Abstract
Parasporal inclusions, virtually free of spores, from Bacillus thuringiensis var. thuringiensis, Bacillus thuringiensis var. sotto, and Bacillus tlwringiensis var. entomocidus, were tested for toxicity against larvae of the silkworm, Bombyx mori. The EDIlO (median effective dose, inducing paralysis in 6 hours) was 26, 0.02, and 0.03 p.g/g of larva, respectively. At threshold values onset of paralysis was in some cases delayed up to 12 hours, and heart beat could be detected up to 36 hours in some paralyzed larvae.
