Abstract

Researchers at the Canadian Forest Service (CFS) have developed a lure combination of a pheromone and a green leaf volatile that may provide a valuable tool for the early detection and management of the emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire). This research provides the first evidence to demonstrate increased attraction with a combination of a pheromone and a green leaf volatile in a buprestid species, the insect family more commonly known as jewel or metallic beetles.
