Canadian Forest Service (CFS) genomics research addresses challenges faced by Canada’s forest sector through knowledge and commercial innovation. The CFS’s expertise in forest genomics responds to the needs of the forest sector by identifying genes of commercially important traits such as wood quality and growth, and tree resistance to biotic and abiotic factors. The CFS also produces innovative molecular technologies to identify, diagnose, and control invasive pests and pathogens.
