This issue was produced following the 2016 IUFRO conference “Climate-induced range shifts in boreal forest pests: ecological, economic, and social consequences.” The articles cover the five main topics of the conference: plant-insect phenology; the expansion of species distribution areas; ecosystems’ response to changing disturbance regimes; disturbance interactions; and forest management and change adaption.
