The purpose of this publication was three fold: 1) Document to historical and contemporary history of the Insect Production and Quarantine Laboratory insect colonies; 2) Establish a standardized nomenclature to reference IPQL stocks for internal and external clients; and 3) Provide a citation for clients to cite when referencing IPQL insects in research publications.This publication publically documents knowledge on the history of the IPQL colonies, which are important infrastructure in the CFS. Furthermore, this provides a mechanism to track their usage and document their impact in the scientific literature.
