A knowledge portal with information on boreal caribou, land management and wetland knowledge was developed and launched in an effort to ensure relevant information is readily available in one, easy-to-find location.
Plain Language Summary
Research outcomes and results on caribou recovery, restoration and wetland management are often difficult to find and not presented in a useful manner for end-users. To encourage collaboration, there was a need for an improved way to share easily accessible information. A portal was developed to provide clear, useful and relevant information to key-end users. This knowledge portal has three main categories: caribou, land management and wetland management. The launch of the portal took place in March 2020 and the following years will focus on improving content, building linkages with other information sources and increasing partnerships and collaboration opportunities. The team behind the portal works directly with Indigenous communities to ensure Indigenous needs are met and their knowledge and projects are included. The main goal of the knowledge portal is to provide up-to-date information to end-users. These end-users include environmental consultants, policy and decision makers, government representative, land managers and the public.
