Plain Language Summary
This 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program research project will examine genetic families of western redcedar for resilience to climate extremes. It will also examine how drought impacts tree nutrient levels and how drought affects soil characteristics. By providing program participants with knowledge that can improve seed selection and site preparation for their 2BT planting project, this research will support long term tree survival and an overall reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG).
