Plain Language Summary

This research project will explore the relationship between changing climate, soil and site conditions, and site index (i.e., a metric to evaluate site productivity). The project team will produce national maps that convey current and future site productivity for common tree species. These maps will help guide tree planting and help both 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program participants and the 2BT program management team identify and optimize site selection so that planted trees survive and thrive.
