Profile

Jake St. Amour is a 2003 graduate from the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry program at Lakehead University. He has done extensive field work throughout Ontario ranging from tree planting in Sioux Lookout to timing and assessment for experimental sprays for BioForest Technologies in the Sudbury region. Moreover, Jake has had the opportunity to work on the National Forest Inventory in Manitoba. Jake was also able to gain experience by being part of the Northern Ontario Plant Database team.

Jake joined the Great Lakes Forestry Centre insect production unit in 2005 and relishes the ongoing opportunity to participate in and learn all the aspects of insect rearing. He hopes to have a strong future within the Canadian Forestry Service and to be an asset in the development of the rearing program in the years to come.

In 2009, Insect Production Services was presented with the Natural Resources Canada Departmental Achievement Award because of the team’s outstanding achievements in their specialized area.
