Profile
Ashley Lovelace graduated from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. In 2013, she graduated with a Forest Conservation Technician diploma from Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology.
In 2012, she completed her co-op placement in Insect Production Services at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. Since 2012, Ashley has had several contracts with the centre, gaining experience as an Insect Rearing and Entomology Technician. During her time with Insect Production Services, she prepared and nurtured various native and invasive forest insect species in all stages of development. In addition, she has assisted in laboratory, office, and field-based work pertaining to insect production. Subsequent contracts with the Great Lakes Forestry Centre include assisting in collecting, reviewing, and categorizing research statistics involving lab-reared and wild colonies of spruce budworm. She has also assisted in collecting various temperature regime data for the spruce budworm in all stages of life.
Ashley has provided enthusiastic and educational tours of live exotic insects to the public during her employment at Entomica Insectarium from 2014 to 2018. She is currently working in Insect Production Services.
