Profile
David Paré is a research scientist at the Laurentian Forestry Centre in Quebec. His specialty is biogeochemistry and productivity of ecosystems. His research focuses on issues regarding soil classification and nitrogen cycling. David studies soil organic matter, forest management, carbon sequestration, environmental chemistry, and water in soil systems.
Education
Forest engineer with a bachelor’s degree in applied science (1985) and a master’s degree in forest pedology (1988) from Université Laval. Ph.D. in forest ecology and soils from the University of Alaska–Fairbanks (1990). Postdoctoral studies in forest ecology at Université Laval from 1990 to 1991, and at the Université du Québec à Montréal from 1991 to 1993.
